Haunted House Season Wrap Up

From the over 200 employees that made Scarefest.com happen in 2008, we'd all like to thank you for your WONDERFUL support of both The Darkness and Creepyworld. Both attractions will be back and BIGGER than ever in 2009.

What is planned as of right now?

The Darkness will have TWO new attractions built into our new $600,000.00 building addition. The Darkness now has over 16,000 additional square feet and inside this space you will travel through the freaky World of Terror Visions in 3D, and finally through our new Horror Museum, which leads to our Darkness gift store.

The Darkness will DOUBLE in size in 2009. As you can see in the photo the building is ALMOST DONE! We'll update you right here on Scarefest.com all winter and summer long.

Creepyworld will feature another new attraction bringing the total attractions up to SIX haunted houses for 2009. Again keep checking back right here!

Another NEW feature we will add to BOTH attractions in 2009 is improved ONLINE ticketing... starting next year Scarefest will sign up for an online ticketing program that allows you to print your tickets at HOME and then bring them right to the park without EVER waiting in the ticket line. NEXT YEAR you will be able to walk right into the line to get into the attraction.

Thanks again for a great season!

Happy Holidays.

Make sure you go out pick a pumpkin, decorate your yard, go trick or treating and visit our haunted houses all before November 2, 2008. The following day is ELECTION DAY, so get your stress released by getting Scared at the Darkness and Creepyworld.

The day after we close comes the election and we hope that everyone gets out and votes. .. Scarefest endorses John McCain due to the fact that as a small business we can't afford our taxes raised, which may cause our small company to cut jobs, reduce our ability to purchase new equipment which brings a better Halloween and bigger SCREAMS for our guests each October. Vote for John McCain because that is a vote for small business like ourselves!

The Darkness Has REAL GHOST we have the proof

Recently the Glover Show at 97.1 had a real Ghost Hunter come to the Darkness downtown, near Soulard Market, and discover if The Darkness has ghosts. Real ghosts inside one of America's Best Haunted Houses...hmmm. That is worth investigating isn't it?

Here are the results...

The Darkness has about 20 ghosts living inside this 100 plus year old building that now houses the World Famous Darkness Haunted House. The ghosts are apparently not aggressive, 3 are women, the rest are men. Some of the ghosts are from civil war, some from the local city hospital and yes some are from insane asylum. Most of the ghosts are apparently still lingering in our World because of wrongful deaths.

The Ghost Hunter will be back for a special episode of the Glover show, when they will spend the night inside The Darkness.

The Darkness is open NIGHTLY from October 3rd through November 2nd.

From the creators of the WORLD FAMOUS Darkness brings you the all-new Creepyworld. Larry Kirchner owner of Creepyworld says "For years we made The Darkness our focus, all of our creative energy went into making The Darkness the best haunted house in the nation'. Kirchner continues by saying, "But two years ago when we finally came up with the idea of Creepyworld, we made a financial and creative commitment to make Creepyworld the biggest and best outdoor Halloween and Haunted Attraction in America'.

Now in 2008 Creepyworld has taken a HUGE step in that very direction to being one of the biggest and best Halloween Haunted Attraction in the nation. Tens of thousands of dollars, and months and months of design, construction and planning has gone into taking Creepyworld to the next level. Every aspect of Creepyworld has been improved adding many high tech effects such as pyro and multi motion animations. But the biggest improvement is the attention to detail, no stone was left unturned this year.

America's Best Haunted House

The Darkness haunted house located in St. Louis, Missouri is one of the nations best haunted houses is set to open for the 2008 Halloween season. Recently the hit show 'Modern Marvels' came to St. Louis to film segments for an upcoming show titled 'Halloween Tech'. The only haunted house they will feature is the all new Darkness haunted attraction. Travel Channel is also producing a show entitled 'America's Scariest Haunted Attractions' and both Creepyworld and the new Darkness will be featured. Last season National Geographic Channel featured the Darkness on a show called "Halloween Exposed".

The Darkness was also recently ranked the SECOND BEST Haunted House in the WORLD by www.HauntWorld.com known as the best website on the web to find, review, rate haunted attractions.

Recently Dan Glover toured the Darkness from talk 97 and said it was better than Disney World. So HOW cool is the new Darkness haunted house 2008? Well let me tell you COOLER THAN ANYTHING YOU HAVE EVER SEEN IN YOUR LIFE... over $200,000.00 was invested into upgrades for the attraction and new things were created that you can see no where else in the entire nation.

The new Darkness features HIGH END costumes, to upgrade the realism of the actors inside the attraction. Secondly several new scenes where built at cost of THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of dollars built by the same people who built the Spiderman Ride or the multi million dollar Ghostwood Estate in Kennywood Amusement Park.

So what is new you might ask? Try entering a massive swamp house, that MOVES, TILTS, RAISES and LOWERS it is a TRUE MODERN MARVEL and well will be featured on the show 'Modern Marvels' in October on the History Channel. We also build a MASSIVE graveyard that is so realistic that Hollywood could pull up tomorrow and start filming a movie. Inside the Graveyard you will come face to face with werewolves and real ghost and spirits.

Our favorite new scene and effect inside the new Darkness is a MASSIVE SKELETON T-REX room where you will be attacked by this gigantic beast... you will smell his breath, you will feel the bite from its jaws.

Upstairs you can also experience a true mirror maze which will keep you lost for what seems like an eternity. The Darkness is just a TRUE MODERN MARVEL, that is known WORLD WIDE, and visited by scare seekers from all over the WORLD each Halloween season. St. Louis you are blessed to have this WORLD CLASS attraction just sitting a few miles from your house in Downtown St. Louis next to Soulard Market.

We invite you to come down this season. View all the latest photo by click on this link.

The Darkness opens September 12 and stays open weekends in September and nightly in October 3rd through November 2, 2008.
